Pogostemon stellatus

Pogostemon stellatus is a stem plant originating from Asia and Australia, known for its beautiful shape and color. It grows to a height of 15 to over 30 cm (potentially up to 60 cm) and up to 10 cm wide. It is considered an advanced plant that is difficult to grow in aquariums, requiring intensive light and high CO2 levels (approx. 15-25 mg/L) to thrive. A shortage of micronutrients typically leads to pale leaves, indicating a need for fertilizer. Even under good conditions, growth may occasionally stop suddenly. In retail settings, these plants are often compact and grown in marshy conditions, only revealing their full aesthetic potential once established underwater in an aquarium.
